What have you found to be the biggest challenge leading Greiner Bio-One NA during the COVID-19 crisis?
The biggest challenge has been ensuring our teams remain healthy and motivated. Because we are an “Essential Business” with many customers relying on our life-saving products, it is important to have healthy and motivated teams with high passion for delivering great products.
How do you feel Greiner has adapted during these challenges?
I feel that Greiner has adapted very well to the current situation. Our teams have a new mission and passion – our work means so much more to everyone these days because what we are doing makes a significant difference in people’s lives and fighting this virus.
How do you foresee the biotech industry changing in the future? What will be the “new normal”?
For the BioScience side of our business, our industry has changed forever ...in a good way. Greiner has been able to step-up and provide research products (that were normally not very popular) in high capacity in laboratories we were not reaching prior to the pandemic. Research is moving so fast, and as new technologies are developed, Greiner is working side-by-side with the industry. For Preanalytics, we are leading the way with innovation and technology for transporting viral swabs and for antibody testing of blood. The new normal is that our customers recognize Greiner as a preferred supplier and a world-class organization. They are relying on us heavily for diagnosing and researching Covid-19.
What do you want customers to know?
I want customers to know that we are passionate about improving the health and lives of our communities and families and that we are dedicated to bringing innovation and technology into the marketplace on which they can rely. We are in this together to make our world a better place.
