ISO 45001: Greiner Bio-One Frickenhausen is the first site to be certified

| Sustainability - Back to overview

Greiner Bio-One has reached an important milestone in occupational health and safety: The Frickenhausen site in Germany is the first Greiner Bio-One site to successfully complete the ISO 45001 certification audit. This achievement highlights the company’s strong commitment to healthy, safe and sustainable working conditions.

The internationally recognized ISO 45001 standard defines requirements for an effective occupational health and safety management system. Its implementation helps systematically to reduce risks and to continuously enhance the safety and well-being of employees.

Successful certification audit with zero nonconformities

The initial certification audit was conducted in mid-December 2025 at the Frickenhausen site by TÜV Rheinland – with outstanding success. The audit was completed without any major or minor nonconformities, confirming that Greiner Bio-One Frickenhausen meets the highest standards in occupational health and safety.

Occupational safety as part of the corporate culture

The successful ISO 45001 certification reflects a corporate culture where safety and health are firmly embedded. Continuous improvement, clearly defined responsibilities, and the active involvement of employees all contribute significantly to creating a safe working environment.

Andreas Lehner, Senior Expert Global Health, Safety & Environment, emphasizes the significance of this success:

“The ISO 45001 certification in Frickenhausen is an important milestone and a strong signal across our organization. It demonstrates our team's strong commitment to occupational health and safety.”

Group-wide goal: more ISO 45001-certified sites by 2030

As part of Greiner's Blue Plan sustainability strategy, our goal is to increase the number of ISO 45001-certified sites by 2030. The successful completion of certification in Frickenhausen is an important starting point for Greiner Bio-One.

“By 2030, our goal is to have all seven Greiner Bio-One production sites on a total of four continents certified according to this standard.”

Andreas Lehner, Senior Expert Global Health, Safety & Environment

This goal underscores the company’s strategic commitment to establish consistently high standards in occupational health and safety worldwide. Greiner Bio-One will continue to pursue this path with determination, further enhancing working conditions and creating safe, healthy, and attractive workplaces across the globe.
