Groundbreaking Ceremony at Greiner Bio-One
New distribution centre in Kremsmünster„With today’s groundbreaking ceremony for the new distribution centre at the GBO headquarters in Kremsmünster, we are entering a new phase of our expansion course“, was how CEO Franz Konrad (Ing.) explained the offensive Greiner Bio-One strategy. The official kick-off to construction took place on 17th June, attended by the Upper Austrian state representative for business Viktor Sigl and the Greiner Group board members Dr. Axel Greiner and Axel Kühner.
The total of employees at Greiner Bio-One’s Austrian locations in Kremsmünster and Rainbach will increase from 442 to 520 with this step. EUR 14.7 million will be invested to build a new high shelves warehouse over an area of 2000m2 with incoming goods and shipping areas as well as a large commissioning area. In addition, new office space measuring 1500 m2 will be created.
The aim of the new distribution centre is to optimise processes and thus further improve our delivery capacities.
• The new distribution centre will increase the current storage capacity by 5300 palette spaces
• The new centre ensures our delivery capacity by decoupling production and logistics
• With the new high shelves warehouse a higher handling capacity for commodities and finished items will be made possible
• The high workload and stretched capacities for the current high shelves warehouse will be reduced
