100 New Jobs by October: Greiner Bio-One Brings New Economic Impetus with Investment of MillionsInformation on Press Conference with State Representative for Business Viktor Sigl and CEO Franz Konrad (Ing.) on 4th March 2009.
“Particularly in the current economic climate, Greiner Bio-One’s investment of millions brings an incredibly important and positive economic impetus to Upper Austria,“ said Viktor Sigl, State Representative for Business, in the light of the forthcoming production start for Greiner Bio-One in Rainbach im Mühlviertel. The start is planned for March with 35 employees. By autumn 100 people will be employed. For the medium-term, up to 300 employees are planned.

It was thanks to exemplary cooperation between the company, the business department of the Upper Austrian State and responsible authorities, that the project could be realised in such an impressively short time, emphasised Business Representative Sigl. On 17th April 2008 a press conference was held to announce the investment and location of the company. On 3rd July the groundbreaking ceremony was held. Exactly one year later - on 2nd July 2009 – the official opening will take place. In between those dates, the production start in March and the gradual expansion of the production over the following months.
“Greiner Bio-One’s establishment is an important building block in our battle for every job in Upper Austria”, stressed Sigl. He is convinced that Greiner Bio-One’s choice of location will encourage other companies to settle there, which is not just advantageous for the region but for the rest of Upper Austria. Greiner Bio-One’s multi-million investment creates not just future-oriented jobs, but ensures that the high level of competence, technology and innovative strength stays in Upper Austria.
The establishment of Greiner Bio-One’s new location has made clear how important intercommunal, completely open and, above all, immediately available business building sites are. Upper Austria was able to win the location at the last minute last year, where Hungary had previously been the favourite.
