The professional user - doctor or medical staff - has the additional option of purchasing individual items licenced for professional use (Mouth Rinsing Solution, Saliva Extraction Solution, Saliva Collection Beaker and Saliva Transfer Tube) in order to create sets for saliva collection as required.
The GBO Saliva Extraction Solution is for the actual saliva sample collection by rinsing out the oral cavity for 2 min. This is 4ml saliva extraction solution (citrate buffer pH 4.2), containing a yellow food dye (FD&C yellow n°. 5) and microbiologically tested. The dye contained in the solution serves as internal standard for photometric volume determination in the collected saliva sample in the laboratory.
